it's you and me up against the world, it's you and me

I don't need a parachute, baby if I've got you
Baby if I've got you, I don't need a parachute
You're gonna catch me,
You're gonna catch if I fall

The second Bucky saw tears forming in Steph's eyes he stopped moving his hips and frowned. One hand came up to rest on her cheek, dragging his thumb gently under her eye to wick away any moisture, and he was about to ask what was wrong, if she wanted to stop, when she spoke. And then she laughed.

It made a warm grin break out on Bucky's face, too, and he leaned in to kiss her again, slow and deep and pouring every bit of love into it that he knew how to. "I love you, too, Steph," he said softly against her lips as his hips began to rock again. "Always have, always will. And tomorrow," Bucky pulled back just enough to look down at her properly, his eyes locking on hers while his hand slid back down to fondle her breast. "Tomorrow I'm gonna prove it by marrying you."

Stephanie Rogers was the only woman Bucky had ever wanted to end up with. Not once did he think something would come of any of the dates he'd been on with other women in the past--it was all just biding time, waiting for his best friend to give him some sort of sign that she felt the same way about him. It just turned out he sucked at reading the signs, cause if he didn't they would have been married years ago.

Maybe it was worth dealing with the past year and some change to end up where they were. They were finally together, and that was the important thing.
